Practicing an understanding of center of gravity while creating sexy poses that securely enhance the body’s conditioning is a form of eroticism that is about patience and will development. While most pole conditioning classes focuses sharply on the strength needed to do tricks, this class focuses on the “BDSM”—balance, dominance, stability, submission and masochism—of polework. Which, at a base level is understanding how to hold and move through different planked body positions
The conception of “BodyBasing” stems from conversations with Tiara Raven Marie and Carmine Black about decentering the pole and getting to the spirit and form of tricks without it. Yes strength is needed for pole tricks but also surrender is a skill often unlearned. Conversations about body type, ability and image come to mind too easily as strength is often associated with fitness. ‘BodyBasing’ isn’t rooted in fitness exercising and strength conditioning. For the time, ‘BodyBasing’ workshops will be offered at random one to two times per month both virtually and in-person. The workshop length is one hour and 15 minutes. Ashley will provide cues and modifications in real-time for those in class, while also demonstrating how to progress if someone hits an end-range that is not the final form. For virtual enrollees, the workshop will be recorded and accessible to stream for four weeks. Ashley will encourage to make the milky transitions a ritual movement practice weekly to see measurable progress. This isn’t a workshop that is one and done— it is design to be studied as the movement can deepen.
